Netflix releases first trailer for new thriller series Clickbait
You won't believe what happens!
Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming limited series Clickbait.
Described as a “compelling high stakes thriller,” it’s set to explore “the ways in which our most dangerous and uncontrolled impulses are fueled in the age of social media, online dating and the dark side of the internet.”
The Devil Wears Prada actor Adrian Grenier stars as seemingly ordinary family man Nick Brewer who one day mysteriously disappears.
A video soon appears online which shows him disheveled and beaten being held in a room against his will with a sign saying “I abuse women, at 5 million views I die.”
His loving wife Sophie (Betty Gabriel) and sister Pia (Zoe Kazan) race to try and save him while “reeling from the revelation in the video — is it a threat, confession, or both — as they uncover a side of Nick they didn't know existed.”
In the Heights’ Phoenix Raei also plays Oakland Police detective Roshan Amir who becomes the center of a media storm as he attempts to get to the bottom of the case.
The show was created by Tony Ayres and Christian White, with the former serving as showrunner and one of its executive producers.
White also wrote the series and The Sinner’s Brad Anderson has directed all eight episodes.
Clickbait will be available to stream from 28th August on Netflix.
