The Drama (2026)

Released earlier this year, The Drama follows a happily engaged couple (Zendaya and Robert Pattinson) in the lead-up to their wedding. However, their seemingly perfect life is thrown into disarray as an unexpected secret comes to light a week before the big day.

From Norwegian film director and screenwriter, Kristoffer Borgli, this film refuses to spoil itself in its trailer - and I will do the same here, saying only that this black comedy explores complex themes whilst not allowing itself to get too serious.

The Drama released on April 3rd 2026 (UK) and is yet to be announced for streaming.

The Odyssey (2026)

Directed by Christopher Nolan and adapted from Homer's ancient Greek epic, this film is sure to be a true cinematic event. Starring an array of A-list talent, including Zendaya, Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Anne Hathaway - this film is sure to be filled with top-rate performances.

This epic covers the story of Odysseus and his perilous journey home after a decade fighting in the Trojan War. With a legendary story, critically acclaimed writer/director, and a long list of A* actors - this is one film we are definitely heading to the cinema for.

The Odyssey is set to release July 17th 2026 (UK).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

This summer, Zendaya is returning to her role as MJ Watson. As the fourth MCU Spider-Man project, this film takes place four years after the world has forgotten Peter Parker’s identity as Spider-Man. It seems Peter (played by Tom Holland) will be dealing with more street-level crime, something that fans have been craving for years.

Holland has spoken about the film's focus on Peter’s search for identity - "It's a movie about when young people really find their identity and become adults […] Having been through that as a person, it really gave me a great insight into how to bring Peter Parker to life with this new chapter that he's embarking on."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases July 31st 2026 (UK).

Dune: Part Three (2026)

Another epic film series in Zendaya’s body of work, Dune: Part Three, is the final film in Legendary Pictures’ Dune Trilogy. Based on Frank Herbert’s Dune Messiah, this film continues the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya) 17 years on from Dune: Part Two.

The film will explore the consequences of power and how leadership can test our beliefs. Seems like this instalment will serve a mixture of political drama, cinematic action, and at its core, a love story. If you need to catch up on the series, the first two films are available to watch on HBO Max (available through select Sky package deals).

Dune: Part Three has a release date of December 18th 2026 (UK).

Shrek 5 (2027)

One for the whole family to enjoy - we are getting a new Shrek film! Seventeen years (yes, really) after the release of the fourth instalment, we will be revisiting everyone’s favourite Scottish ogre.

With only a 28-second teaser trailer having been released, we don’t have many details about the plot as of yet, but we know that Zendaya is joining the franchise as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, Felicia. With Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy returning to their iconic roles, we are interested to see which direction DreamWorks takes.

Shrek 5 was originally set to come out Christmas 2026, but it has since been pushed back to June 30th 2027 (UK).

The Housemaid’s Secret (2027)

A sequel to the highly talked about 2025 film The Housemaid - Sydney Sweeney is back as Millie, a housekeeper with a troubled past.

Directed by Paul Feig, The Housemaid’s Secret centers on Sweeney’s character in a new housekeeping role for a woman she isn’t allowed to see. Mystery ensues as Millie uncovers the truth kept behind locked doors and discovers secrets darker than her own.

The Housemaid’s Secret will be in cinemas December 17th 2027 (UK).

The Custom of the Country (TBA)

Based on the 1913 novel by Edith Wharton, The Custom of the Country is a tragicomedy telling the story of Undine Spragg, a young Midwestern woman attempting to climb the social ladder in early 20th-century New York.

Whilst there hasn’t been much information released, we know that Sydney Sweeney has been cast in the lead role, with Josie Rourke (Mary Queen of Scots) as writer and director.

The book explores themes of materialism, vanity, and the clash of ‘old money’ vs ‘new money’. With the success of The Buccaneers - an adaptation of Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, this film may strike the same gold.

There is yet to be a release date set for The Custom of the Country.

Gundam (TBA)

A live-action remake of the 1979 anime series Mobile Suit Gundam (available on Amazon Prime Video through Crunchyroll) - this Netflix adaptation is set to star Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo in main roles.

Described as “Gundam like it’s never been seen before” and as a ‘military science fiction action space opera’, we’re intrigued to see how the filmmakers will approach such a well-loved series.

Gundam has yet to be given a release date.

The Dog Stars (2026)

Set in a post-apocalyptic world wrecked by a devastating flu pandemic, The Dog Stars centres on former civilian pilot, Hig (Jacob Elordi) and ex-Marine, Bangley (Josh Brolin). Drawing on their pre-pandemic experiences, they confront outside threats whilst holding onto the hope of a better life.

With Ridley Scott in the director's seat, we are excited to see his return to sci-fi and may find ourselves rewatching Alien (available on Disney+) in the meantime.

The Dog Stars is scheduled to release August 28th 2026 (UK).

Blade Runner 2099 (2026)

Another one for sci-fi fans, Blade Runner 2099 is a miniseries coming to Amazon Prime Video. Starring Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh, this serves as a sequel to Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 (the latter available on Netflix).

Schafer’s character Cora has been on the run her whole life, forced to adopt a multitude of identities to survive. To achieve a stable future for her younger brother, she takes on one last persona - forcing her to work with Olwen (Yeoh), a Blade Runner confronting the end of her life. As an escalating conspiracy draws them in, the fate of the city is threatened.

Blade Runner 2099 is scheduled for a 2026 release on Amazon Prime Video.

Cry to Heaven (2026)

From fashion designer turned filmmaker, Tom Ford, Cry to Heaven is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel. Boasting a star-studded cast including Hunter Schafer, Nicholas Hoult, Colin Firth, and Adele (yes, THE Adele!) - this historical drama is definitely on our radar.

Taking place in 18th-century Italy, the story follows a Venetian noble and an impoverished castrato as they collaborate to succeed in the world of opera. With themes of betrayal, ambition, revenge, and identity, this film is sure to be a feast of dramatic performances with an operatic soundtrack.

Cry to Heaven is currently in post-production to release in autumn 2026 (UK).

Make sure to catch the finale for Euphoria Season 3 on May 31st 2026 - available to watch exclusively on Sky Atlantic.
