Bridgerton star teases season 2 cameo
The Duke of Hastings could yet return.
Breakout Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page has hinted that he could make a cameo appearance in its highly-anticipated second season.
During a recent interview with GQ magazine, he initially said “you know I couldn’t tell you” when asked whether he not he would show up.
When pressed further on the subject however, he cryptically responded with “isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?”
In April 2021, the show’s official Twitter account announced Page’s departure via a letter from the show’s anonymous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown.
His character is largely absent from the second novel in Julia Quinn’s bestselling Bridgerton series upon which this upcoming season will be mostly based.
Page himself has also been incredibly busy since the show’s premiere in December 2020 having secured roles in both the upcoming Russo Brothers’ thriller The Gray Man and the new Dungeons and Dragons film.
Moving on from the romance between Page’s Duke of Hastings and socialite Daphne Brigderton (Phoebe Dynevor), the second season of Bridgerton will focus on her elder brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for a wife.
Sex Education’s Simone Ashley will take over as the new female lead and his potential love interest Kate with Charithra Chandran, Shelly Conn, Calam Lynch and Rupert Young also set to join the cast.
You can stream the entirety of Bridgerton on Netflix now.
