I Know What You Did Last Summer cancelled by Amazon
The series concluded its now first and only run on 12th November 2020.
Amazon Prime has decided not to renew its teen horror series I Know What You Did Last Summer for a second season.
The platform, like biggest rival Netflix, does not generally release its viewing figures but the show received mixed to negative reviews upon its release last October.
While many of these praised the performances of its young cast, they also criticized the quality of its script, lack of scares and apparently sluggish pacing.
I Know What You Did Last Summer, like the hit 90s slasher film before it, serves as an adaptation of Lois Duncan’s novel of the same name.
It follows a group of teenage friends who begin to be stalked by a sinister killer a year after they committed a hit-and-run on the night of their high-school graduation.
Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck and Brooke Bloom all star.
Created by Gossip Girl’s Sara Gamble, the show was written by Shay Hatten, Johanna Stokes, Phoebe Fisher, Gary Tieche, Lana Cho and Chaconne Martin-Berkowicz.
Directing duties for the nine hour-long episodes were shared out amongst The Boy’s Craig William Macneill, Logan Kibens and Benjamin Semanoff.
You can stream the first season of I Know What You Did Last Summer on Amazon Prime now.
