Trailers for upcoming Sony and Marvel projects released
Two projects that have fans very excited.
What If…?
Marvel has released the trailer and details for season two of the surprise hit MCU series What If…?
The show, which was based on the comics, takes a look at the different universes where outcomes of various events happened differently and what the consequences of those differences are now.
For example, season one showed an episode where Peggy Carter, from the Captain America films, was the one to be given the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rodgers, thus becoming Captain Carter.
She would then show up in this actual form in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, showing that the events of What If…? may not just be a what if.
This has fans excited to see what could be coming in season two. With the MCU heading further and further into the multiverse, it will be interesting to see who else may be coming to the live-action MCU at some point.
The trailer also revealed that the series would be coming to Disney+ on 22nd December, and as a lucky holiday treat, will be released daily for nine consecutive days.
Madame Web
Over at Sony on the Spider-Man side of things, the debut trailer for the upcoming Madame Web film was also released today.
Madame Web is connected to the Spider-Man universe but will be a standalone origin story for the long-serving comic character.
It is Sony’s first female-led Marvel movie, with Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) assuming the titular role and Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) playing Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman.
The film is set to be released in cinemas on 16th February 2024.
