New improvised murder mystery series headed to Netflix
Murderville is a remake of the 2015 British series Murder in Successville.
A new improvised murder mystery series titled Murderville has been commissioned by Netflix.
The show will serve as a US adaptation of BBC Three’s Murder In Successville which saw the fictional DI Desmond Sleet (Tom Davis) team up with a different celebrity guest each episode to solve a murder.
Its central premise will remain the same with Will Arnett set to star as Senior Detective Terry Seattle of the Homicide Division.
While the core mystery will have a scripted outcome, how exactly the participants arrive at this outcome is entirely up to them.
Amongst those set to guest star on the show are Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy, Kumail Nanjiani, Ken Jeong and chat show host Conan O’Brien.
Haneefah Wood, Lilan Bowden and Phillip Smithey will also all join Arnett as series regulars.
Krister Johnson, who previously acted as a writer on Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer follow up, will act as showrunner with directing duties to be shared out amongst The Inbetweeners’ creator Iain K. Morris and Brennan Shroff.
You can stream all episodes of Murderville from 3rd February 2022 on Netflix.
