Succession renewed for season 4 at HBO
This news isn't too surprising given the show's immense popularity with fans and critics alike.
The acclaimed darkly-comic drama Succession will return for a fourth season, HBO’s executive vice president Francesca Orsi has confirmed.
"With each season of Succession, Jesse Armstrong has continued to surpass our wildest expectations, pulling us deeper into the Roy family's inner sanctum with indelible wit, humanity, and precision," she said as part of the renewal announcement.
“This season is undoubtedly no exception, and we couldn't be more excited for all that's in store in this next season ahead."
This news comes two weeks after Succession’s third season premiered on Sky Atlantic here in the UK following a two-year break, a delay which was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Consequently, nothing is really known about this upcoming fourth season other than that creator and co-writer Armstrong will presumably return as showrunner.
Its main cast including Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfayden, Alan Ruck and Nicholas Braun are also all expected to return.
Season 3, which has so far received universally positive reviews from critics, sees the Roy family on the edge of all out civil war following Kendall’s (Strong) decision to publicly blame Logan (Cox) for the Waystar Royco cruise ship scandal.
